Recently, I've been crazy over Geography. I dont know why. Maybe cuz I may not be able to study it next year. Maybe cuz of nusgc. Idk why. So anw, I shall attempt to launch a week-full of Geography posts and photos. Here's the 1st of the series:
12 Apostles. Victoria, Australia.
Isn't the view great? Well these 12 Apostles are actually 12 limestone stacks formed due to wave erosion at exposed coasts. They used to be joined to the cliffs. Each started as a headland, and then into an arch as a cave eroded into the base of the headland, enlarges over time. Over time, so much rock gets eroded tht the arch loses support and collapses, forming a stack.
As of today, there are less than 12 (can't seem to find out how many actually) as some of them have collapsed or become submerged stumps due to continual erosion. Nevertheless, the panoromic scenery simply captures the wonders of Geography - the masterfully sculpted landforms.
