Yesterday was spent: Glued to the TV!
Was watching TV the whole afternoon and at about 8+ till 11pm.
One whole day burnt just like tht... Haish, but at least i managed to finish 1 duhougan and physics examples. I actually did my homework on Sat and not Sun, can you believe it?
Anw, I totally enjoyed watching Discovery Travel & Living (Ch 16). First was some show on Greek Food (food safari i think). All the fish, sotong (!), clams. Seafood madness! Haha, they looked super tantalising. Hmm.. maybe someday they will invent a grab-and-munch TV?
Next was rough track. Oooh... the sceneries were stunning:
The tropical sun with clear turquoise water and white sand of Ko Phi Phi, the spouting geysers, rushing ravines and icy sunsets in Iceland, the waffle-smelling cathedral railway station in Belgium.
Simply breathtaking. Itching to travel the world!
Next was NGC's Taboo. Disgustingly taboo.
- They eat snakes to boost health and male virility in Vietnam (and to cure malaria?!) and make wines with snakes
- Eat dogs in Hanoi
- Eat all sorts of disgusting food like: fried insects, bear's claws, crocodile heads & bull's balls and sausages (if you get what I mean) in a gala dinner in NYC. Imagine suit or gown-cladded guests struggling with slimy bull's balls (and eyeballs) or attempting to pry open a croc's mouth. So unglam.
Watched Taboo at night too, this one's about love & devotion.
- Did you know that some human vampires in LA actually suck the blood from a purposely inflicted wound on his/her willing spouse?
- African men of some wa-la-la-oh-la-la tribe actually stole wives from other men by attracting them through beauty contests? And they can have up to 10 wives or more! If they are damn hot. But catch is that they must bring the wife to their new home before the husband finds them (cuz he may kill them).
Adulterous but xing4 fu2 if they succeed (cuz the first wife has to shut up and accept tht. LOL!).
-Many (not most) women worldwide marry convicts when these convicts are in jail. Omg, deprived. Like some forbidden love. This Santa Babaran woman actually waited for her husband for the whole 45 years he was imprisoned. And she would visit him twice a week, each time having to bleach and sterilise all her belongings (even the money she brought!) just so she could get pass the drug detection test at the prison and meet her husband, for just that 1 hour. Aww...
Honestly, TV really opens your eyes to the world: all the beautiful places, the extreme practices, the wonderful people (and food), the great architecture (and the great baguaxinwen. jkjk). So parents, think twice about banning your children from watching TV :) & they shall reward me with all their candy and softtoys. Muahaha!
