I can make you like me for life
but
I can make you hate me for life too. (tho the latter is easier)

Hey thr!

Gahhs..the mid-year fever! The mid-year syndrome! The mid-year virus! The mid-year....(oh wadever, i'm outta words bt u get the pt). Hve nt started preparing yet whihc is kinda stressful cuz the atmosphere in class makes me feel lyk i'm lagging behind - u hve ppl reciting their notes WORD FOR WORD, ppl mugging, ppl reading their notes lyk 24/7. Haishh, no motivation to study bah...maths sure die liao. :P

Anw, to those who asked abt ICEP (Janice, Kendrick, David, Liqin), thx alot for ur concern, rly appreciate it. Bt it was so-so bahs, The ppl thr r rly gd (heard tht Zac?), srsly. Dun think i'll stand a chance against such fierce competition. Anw, i've done my best and will just hve to wait for THAT email (tho kinda pessimistic). Dun worry peepz.

Quote frm "You can't stop the beat" frm Hairspray- The movie: "So if you don't like the way I look, well, I just don't give a damn!"
Wow! All the self-assurance and confidence in tht line. If only i cld have tht assurance in myself. Bt anw, going out to those, whether or not u hve been criticised for ur looks or other aspects, do nt sucuumb to them. They're either jealous or trying to put you down. Even if they are stating a fact, believe in urself - the confidence you exude will impress them. Live life btr than they expect u to - tht's wad i hve to say.

A Midsummer Night's Dream! (: Let's own! Let's pawn!

IMCB was <3!
Biopolis was <3!
Proteos was <3!
PCR was <3!

Haha, skipped sch for the past 3 days for attachment prog with A*STAR's IMCB at Biopolis.

Was supposed to do on CNS Regeneration and Myeliaion (dun ask me wad tht is. aparently, heard it was to grow nerve cells) bt ended up we did Flu Detection System, which was srsly much more applicable and interesting. (Basically learnt abt wad happens when samples frm ur body fluids are sent to the lab for testing and how to interpret the results.)

Was initially quite quiet and only talked to austin and laura. Bt aft doing the grp experiments, rly had lots of chances to work and chat with ppl from RI, RGS, HCI etc. They are rly brilliant minds. Some even thinking of taking 2 to 3 H3 subjects in JC! :O Pros (thr's even an RI guy who gt GPA 3.7!!). And v cultured and are able to carry themselves well (haha, must learn from them). Laughed alot from their witty jokes too! :DD. I srsly admire their scientific knowledge and curiousity. Cuz we were learning on the RNA and DNA of Influenza virus as well as the various strands (how they come abt etc.) and strucure of the Influenza Virus (Haemagluttinin and NA etc). N as we all noe, I've nt learnt it in bio yet. So it was rather enriching tho hard to grasp. Bt lots of my doubts were cleared whn fellow students asked lots of qns, which is a great learning tool and provided a conducive learning environment and culture (something tht rarely appears in RV).

Did PCR, Luminex Hybridisation, viral extractions, DNA visualisations, gel electrophoresis. Sounds chim? Yea, cuz it IS! Still need tym to digest the whole chunk of info. Bt i'm determined to do so. :) And apparently, we had a chance to work with the H5N1 virus :O :O (Relax...we had gloves and the virus was kind of inactive cuz it was stored in ice). to detect it. And samples from students which kind of produced strange results like Flu A and B strands. Bt at least our grp's PCR was successful for the H5N1 strand, managed to detect it on GE and LH! :)

Had lots of fun at biopolis exploring the lab facilites lyk centrifuges (some washing machine sized), autoclaves, vortex machines, micropipettes, PCR machines etc. And the building architecture was simply futuristic with cool names like Matrix, Helios, Cnetros, Nanos and Proteos (whr we were stationed). Exploring the skybridges was simply exhilarating. Hope to work thr or go for attachements thr someday. *wishes hard* Even had a biopolis security pass to scan and allow access into the labs and skybridges etc. :) Pics will be uploaded sometym later.

Kind of missed the course experience which rly opened my eyes to the R&D sector and allowed me to network with brainiacs frm other schs. The grp photo at Skybridge was excellent. Hope to go for similar attachments nex tym.

Haha, long tym no update liao.

Hmm.. nthg much happened, just dat been spammed by lots of tests. Pbb th flip side of the 3x sci combi bah. Anw, uber satisfied with geog, thot i was gnna flunk it cuz of the settlement pattern. Bt it turned all great! Chem was a little disappointing bah. A1 so wad? Nt up to my expectations. Call me a perfectionist or wad, bt i am rather unhappy with this A1. Must seriously study loads for MYE. Bt nvm, I shall channel all of th energy into bio test tmr. Gahhss..must climb up the ladder. A1's the goal.

Anw, received a seemingly odd kind of present today. N gt shua3-ed so many tyms. Haha, it's this thomas and friends jigsaw puzzle. Initially, when i saw th thomas and friends section last week at toys r us, was kind of obssessed with the train set (bt tht was since young). Shocked? Dun be. It's kindof fun and interesting to me i guess. Bt anw, bck to the present, spent 15 mins piecing up the present and I loved it.

Esp the back part whr PA Y3's 08 and Shannon wrote their birthday wishes. Thx alot guys and gals. Must hve cost lots of $ (yes, I saw the receipt inside the bag. Haha.) and effort for u guys to stay bck and piece it up before writing ur wishes. Srsly, one of th best gifts I've received. Maybe cuz of the personal touch and warmth, instead of those $75 books or $20 pens. I think i gnna search the island for this revolving photo frame to frame it up then can see both sides of the puzzle. Haha, hope i'll be able to get one for a 100 piece jigsaw. :D
& dun worry peeps, i noe u guys did nt forget my birthday. Haha.

Mondays are th best days. I luv Drama! (Have I mentioned tht?) Oh nvm, it's the freedom and impersonations tht gets me going.

The whole world seems tumbling down on me. Shucks, I gtta learn to accept failure and take it in my stride (nt tht I failed THE test bt damn unsatisfied). I gtta learn to stop emo-ing over failures and pick myself up when I fall.
