Woots~!
Got 1 Star Kayaking certificate! Okay, as in achieved.
The course at Kallang Basin was uber fun.
Learnt several strokes lyk the J Draw, Classic Draw, 180 deg spin, rudder (something), low brace (it's brace hor, nt ya..u noe), emergency brake etc. Bt cld nt do the draws v well..kept spinning in circles. Oh bt who cares, kayaking was fun (even though i capsized on the v first journey. Thx for helping me call for help.).
& i think capsizing was rather traumatizing? I dunno..maybe it's cuz i panicked abt capsizing into murky waters? I mean, we cun see where we were or wad. Bt finally gt it aft 4 attempts. Lotsa SALTY water in my ears and my eyes hurt. Legs kept getting trapped in my kayak when i was underwater cuz of the two STUPID black protrutions dat blocked them so u wun capsize so easily. & of all boats, only the blue boats hve them. N of all boats, i used a blue boat. Great, juz great.
TX Rescue was rather challenging. One person had to capsize n pretend he was drowing -.-". Then thr will be one rescuer n his assistant.
Had to empty the sunken kayak out at sea by balancing it on the rescuers boats to get the water out before helping the victim on to the kayak again. Rly tested our strength with one boat full of water! Bt apparently, we started out lyk more than 50m away frm shore n ended up on the beach by the tym we rescued him. Hahax. It was hilarious. Cuz the kayak kept capsizing each tym he tried to get on so kp redoing the drill.
Hahax, bt all's well dat ends well. N thr's 2 star kayaking, 3, 4, 5 and more!
Bt no...if u think i'm gnna take those, sry.
Simply cuz too ex. $60?! for a 24 hrs course? Nah.
Oh..n the Coach kayaked away when it started to rain, leaving us behind while we looked for zhai yang's slipper. Hmpf. Bt in the end, i think he realised his boo-boo n waited for everyone to leave first. Kayaking in the rain was uber fun!!!!! The water was a rather choppy and the rain water juz showers u, expelling the heat within u. Both challenging n soothing. Bt the droplets hit ur eyes real hard!
Ended at 7pm on Wed n at 3.30pm on Thurs cuz of the rain (even though it stopped by the tym we lugged the boats to shore. =.=).
Shooting was horrible.
Felt rly bad when he specially sms-ed me to check the results and I (we) had to disappoint him.
He had pinned so much hopes n efforts on us.
N for this, i feel guilty.
